This is were I will post my attempt at hackintoshing my desktop.
PC Specs:
PC: Asus Essentio CM1730-05 Purchased from BestBuy for $559.99
CPU: AMD Phenom ii X6 1065t 2.9 GHz
Motherboard: M4A78LT-M
GPU: ATI Radeon 3000. This GPU is not supported. (Ordered EVGA Geforce 9500 GT 1GB DDR2 for upgrade/easy install and Open GL and QE/CI support. Just use GraphicsEnabler=yes and bam, its fully working. Price: $54.99. May need to use the Chameleon 2.0 RC5 boot loader.)
PSU: 500w Power Supply. (I'll check the full specs later. for the PSU. I am currently using this computer and the sticker that has the info on it is facing the other side of the PC.)
(If you want more specs please ask)
Attempt one:
Booting off the Iaktos S3 V2 installation disk with no flags. Hangs at apple logo and fails to boot.
Attempt two:
Boot with busratio=20 cpus=6
Install Iaktos S3 V2. Boot fails. (Note: I tried to but with -v -x -f busratio=20 cpus=6)
Reason: KP (The Kernel I used was not compatible with my CPU)
Attempt Three:
Same Failure.
Attempt Four:
Install successful.
Second boot successful. (Note: Have to boot with busratio =20 cpus=6 or it hangs at the apple logo.)
The audio some what works. Its very choppy but I think I may have found a fix. The Graphics card is not supported at all. Resolution: 1024x768. The Graphics card is integrated piece of crap. I attempted to get this graphics working with no luck.
Attempt Five:
Still in the process. I am right at this moment shrinking my Windows partition to get ready for a dual boot. May not work properly. Using GParted on a Ubuntu 9.04 installation disk to shrink the partition. I am waiting for the Graphics Card to come in the mail so I can install Mac OS X on the unalocated space of the HDD. (I am going to see if I am able to dual boot Mac OS X first. This will be part of attempt Five. Shrinking a 1TB partition to 50% of its full capacity will take up to 3-4 hours.
More News will be on its way.
UPDATE; Shrinking the partition has finished and I am about to see if I can boot back onto Windows.
UPDATE: Successfully booted into Windows.
UPDATE: Successful dual boot. Can boot into Windows and Mac. Next step: Install new GPU. New update should be up in 3-5 days.
Update: Got my Belkin Wireless G adapter working with Mac. It has the Zydas Chip set. (Version 4xxxx) Used custom Wifi Software. (WLan) Runs great. Fast internet. Next Update may not be for 3-5 days. (Unless I fix my Audio.)
UPDATE: After Audio fix attempt I got a KP so next will be Attempt 6. I will update this in 3-5 days.
UPDATE:
Attempt 6
FULLY working hackintosh. Audio works now and everything. Now the only problem I have is that I can not control the volume. Thats it. I mean it thats the only problem.
